Craps: Buying Chips and Placing Bets

There are 3 types of table limits. The maximum, minimum and the table odds. The maximum bet in a craps table is the utmost bet that can be played on the don't pass line, pass line and for place bets. It is also the maximum payout that can be paid from winning proposition bets or the most aggressive bets.

The minimum bets is the lowest bet that can be played on the field, pass line or don't pass line. In general is doesn't apply on any proposition bets. For a new player it is advisable to choose a table with the lowest minimum so you can learn the rues without spending too much.

The table odds or simply free odds bet can simply a low house edge offered by odds bet. It is the specified multiple of your flat bet that can be made as an odd bet.

At this point you can now buy chips by simply placing your money on the craps table and say 'Change', remember not to put the money into the dealers hand because they are not allowed to accept cash in this process. The dealer will then give it to the awaiting boxman for counting. Afterward the boxman will declare the total amount you give to the dealer and the dealer will place chips in front of you.
